What you'll walk away with
- The day-to-day work — and how it differs from being an engineer. Where the design career lives in the industry.
The 8 stages every car goes through
From a designer's blank page to a real production vehicle — and where the design role lives in each stage. The pathway from where you are now
To a global automotive design career — taught by designers who've worked at BMW Motorrad, Mercedes, KIA and Ducati.
Why this matters now
The next 10 years of automotive design will be decided in India
India is the world's 4th largest automaker. Tesla, Mercedes, and BMW are setting up design studios here. By 2030, the government's target of 30% EV adoption will require around 200,000 new skilled designer and engineer roles.
The salary picture is just as interesting. An automotive designer fresh out of an Indian college earns ₹10–14 lakh a year. The same designer who graduated from an institute like Art Center or Pforzheim earns ₹25–40 lakh — and gets to design vehicles for global markets, not just regional ones.
The gap isn't talent. It's training and access. This webinar shows you both — what's possible, and how to get there.

Quick answers
Frequently asked
Yes — this session is built for that. The first hour is about understanding the field: what designers do, what the industry looks like, what global schools want. By the end you’ll know whether to keep exploring or move on.
Yes. We assume zero prior knowledge. Most of TDI’s students started without a design background, including the 5 designers featured above.
Yes, and we recommend it. We’ve built a parent-inclusive segment into the Q&A for the questions families typically ask: career timelines, school costs, return on investment, application support.
Register anyway. Everyone who registers gets the replay link, active for 48 hours after the session. Live Q&A only happens once though — if you have specific questions, come live.
No. The first 70 minutes are taught content — the field, the pathway, the curriculum. The last 20 minutes are open Q&A. If you want to apply afterwards, there’s a link. If you don’t, you walk away with the knowledge.
